One of the more scarce posters to obtain from the 1980s is this advance one sheet for the Oscar winning landmark film by Steven Spielberg. It's a deceptively effective rendering of E.T.'s mothership gently floating to earth. Intended not to frighten even the very young, yet still able to convey the idea of an alien craft approaching. Certainly, no modern sci-fi collection is complete without this one!
Art by John Alvin. In this design Alvin blends the alien spaceship into the clouds to create intriguing ethereal imagery. A wonderfully atmospheric & thought-provoking composition that would have excited interest. Advance posters were printed in far smaller numbers than posters for the general release.
A troubled child summons the courage to help a friendly alien escape from Earth and return to his home planet.
