This is the super rare Hildebrandt brothers version of the Star Wars quad that was used for just a few weeks in selected West end London cinemas when the film was first released in 1977 (it was then replaced with the more familiar Chantrell artwork). This rare version of the UK Quad poster was designed by the Hildebrandt brothers, and was issued when the film was initially released in the UK. However, subsequent to the films release it was felt that the depiction of the characters should more closely resemble the films actors, and therefore this version of the poster was discontinued in favour of Tom Chantrell’s artwork.
