Note that this poster has a rating box with a black background. When the movie was first released, posters were printed with a blue/green rating box. Shortly after (probably because the movie was a big hit), additional posters were printed with a black rating box. Most collectors consider both of these to be original release posters.
Arguably one of the most popular franchises in the slasher horror film genre, this John Carpenter and Debra Hill masterpiece stars Queen of Halloween Jamie Lee Curtis in her breakout role as Laurie Strode, a Haddonfield high school student stalked by masked murdering sanitarium escapee Michael Myers. Portrayed by Nick Castle, Michael Myers a.k.a. The Shape no doubt established the groundwork for future slasher film psychos to come and did so in this first effort without a single line of dialogue. This original 1978 One Sheet remains a fan favorite and boasts iconic artwork by Robert Gleason.
