Original Universal Pictures One Sheet Poster, styleA, the rare style, (27x41), for the Sidney J. Furie thriller, THE IPCRESS FILE (1965) starring Michael Caine, Nigel Green, Guy Doleman, and Gordon Jackson. The movie was famously referred to in Time Magazine as "the thinking man's Goldfinger." The film tells the story of a number of Western scientists who have been kidnapped and released after being completely brainwashed, rendering them useless as scientists. The British send agent Harry Palmer (Caine) to investigate. Caine would go on to make two more Harry Palmer films, but neither sequel was as popular as this first film in the series.
The Ipcress File was the first of the British-made Michael Caine/Harry Palmer spy series, and what many consider to be the best of the three. Many also rate this film as one of the best "spy thrillers" of the sixties. This is the rare "Ray-Ban" style one sheet.
