2001: A Space Odyssey (1968)
Photo Still (8 X 10 Inches)
£120.00
An original 1968 Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Black and White Photo Still #219, unframed.
The great wheel of Space Station V turning above the Earth, the image that accompanies Strauss's "Blue Danube" waltz.
Kubrick had commissioned a full score from composer Alex North, then quietly replaced it with classical recordings; North only discovered the change when he saw the film at its premiere. The pairing of space and waltz became one of cinema's most celebrated sequences.
