Star Wars (1977)
Original One Sheet (27 X 41 Inches)
£1,325.00
The London Symphony Orchestra recorded John Williams's score for Star Wars at Anvil Studios in Denham, and the soundtrack went on to become one of the best-selling non-pop recordings of its day. The film itself had overtaken Jaws as the highest-grossing picture yet made, and it was still filling cinemas months after it opened.
That long run is the reason for this poster. The Style D artwork by Drew Struzan and Charlie White was produced in 1978 to revitalise the film's original theatrical release, and collectors know it as the Circus poster for its old-time showbill feel. Folded, it remains among the most admired designs of the entire franchise.
