Star Wars (1977)

Sir Alec Guinness was already an Academy Award winner when he agreed to play Obi-Wan Kenobi in a space fantasy he privately had doubts about. Taking a share of the profits as part of his deal, he found it to be among the most rewarding decisions of a long career, even as he grew weary of being recognised for it above all his other roles.

This much sought-after US Half Sheet carries the artwork of Tom Jung, whose painting gave the campaign its first great image. Half Sheets were the lobby-sized alternative to the One Sheet, and an unfolded copy from 1977 is a scarce survivor, its 22 x 28 inch format ideal for a study or a smaller room.
