This highly collectible and visually striking poster is the work of the premier graphic designer Saul Bass (1920-1996). Premiere Magazine voted ‘Vertigo’ #3 on its list of "The 25 Best Movie Posters Ever" Blessed with the gift of identifying the one image which symbolised the movie, Saul Bass then recreated it in a strikingly modern style. ‘Vertigo’ is a complex story about a San Francisco detective and his psychological troubles with fear of heights and obsession over a woman.Bass is probably the most famous name in the graphic arts industry. He worked on some sixty movie titles and posters as well as many instantly recognizable corporate logos. Saul Bass liked to use stark designs, spirals and favoured black, white and red. This poster for Vertigo is a typical example of his movie poster work.
