A very rare original poster from the film’s 1964 re-release in Italy, featuring Ercole Brini’s fabulous artwork of Cary Grant and Grace Kelly in one of Hitchcock’s most seductive encounters.
The artwork recreates the celebrated hotel-suite scene, when Grace Kelly’s Frances Stevens invites John Robie (Cary Grant) to watch the fireworks over the French Riviera. Knowing his past as a jewel thief, she deliberately tempts him with her diamond necklace. When Robie reveals that the jewels are imitation, she replies with the unforgettable line, “Well, I’m not.” The couple kiss as fireworks explode outside. One of Hitchcock’s most playful and romantic moments.
