Danny DeVito’s unsettling portrayal of The Penguin helped redefine comic-book villains for a new generation, whilst Burton’s darker and more stylised approach elevated BATMAN RETURNS into one of the most visually distinctive superhero films ever made. Original studio-issued stills such as this were produced for cinema publicity and press use in relatively limited quantities and are increasingly collectible today.
