Bon Voyage Charlie Brown (1980) - FRAMED

Photo Still (8 X 10 Inches)
£245.00

An original 1980 Paramount Pictures Publicity Still #BVCB-C-5010, framed.

Charlie Brown and Linus sit stranded in a little French car on a deserted road, sheltering under an umbrella while the rain hammers down. Outside, Snoopy splashes through the downpour in his beret, looking less than impressed. As the original Paramount press caption on the back puts it, the irrepressible beagle doesn’t like the rain, or the fact that he and his companions are lost in France.

Bon Voyage, Charlie Brown was the fourth Peanuts feature film, and it sends the gang to France as exchange students, with Snoopy and Woodstock along for the ride. It was a personal story for Charles M. Schulz, who wrote it and who had served in France during the Second World War. It was also the last Peanuts film made for cinemas until The Peanuts Movie in 2015, which makes original publicity material from its release a genuine piece of Peanuts history.

Studio stills like this were made to be sent out to newspapers and magazines, used once and thrown away, so very few have survived more than forty years. This one comes with the original Paramount press caption attached on the reverse. It’s a charming, instantly recognisable image for any Peanuts fan, and it’s framed and ready to hang.
