Delicate Delinquent, The (1957)

Half sheet for the comedy The Delicate Delinquent. The film was the first film that Jerry Lewis made after the breakup of his storied partnership with singer Dean Martin. The film was directed by Don McGuire. Lewis plays a fumbling janitor who is saved from a life of crime when he is sent to the Police Academy to become a cop. If there was any doubt that Lewis could continue on his own as a single after the separation from Martin, that doubt was put to rest when the film brought in over seven million dollars in theatrical rentals -- on a budget of $480,000.
