Hand Signed By John Glen, For Your Eyes Only (1981)
"No one comes close to James Bond 007." After Moonraker sent Bond into outer space, For Your Eyes Only brought him back down to earth with a tough Cold War thriller, and Roger Moore at his very best.
It was John Glen's first film as director. He'd been the editor and second-unit wizard behind some of the series' greatest stunts, and he went on to direct all five Bond films of the 1980s, more than any other director in the series. Sheena Easton's title song was a worldwide hit, and she is still the only Bond theme singer to appear in the opening titles.
The famous "legs" design is one of the most talked-about Bond posters ever made: Bond framed between a pair of endless legs, with Melina's crossbow hanging at her side. It caused quite a stir in 1981, and some American newspapers ran the ad with shorts painted on.
This is the US Advance One Sheet, "Coming This Summer", folded as issued and personally signed by John Glen in black pen beside the title. A signature from the director himself makes this a standout piece for any Bond collection.
