For Your Eyes Only (1981) marked a reset for the James Bond series. Returning to a tighter, more grounded thriller drawn from an Ian Fleming short story, the film pushed Bond away from the excess of the late 1970s and back toward Cold War espionage. It also closed a chapter in Bond history with the final official appearance of Blofeld, following a long-running legal battle over the character’s rights.

This striking British quad reflects that shift in tone. While retaining iconic Bond imagery, it balances glamour with realism and foregrounds action over fantasy. Designed by Brian Bysouth, building on Bill Gold’s famous “legs” concept, the artwork captures a moment when Bond adapted to a changing cinematic landscape; sleeker, tougher, and more in step with the early 1980s.
