From Russia With Love (1965r)

For the first 1965 UK re-release of the second James Bond adventure, United Artists moved away from the traditional painted action montages of the debut campaign, opting instead for this stark, high-impact red and white design.

The film studio decided to opt for a bold red and white design. Similar in style to the red and white designs used in the USA for their 1963 first release, this was intended to be evocative of the colours in the flag of the USSR and the 'reds under the beds' paranoia of the 1960's cold war.
