La Dolce Vita (1960)
Artist Giorgio Olivetti brings to splendid life Frederico Fellini's Oscar-winning drama on this Italian 2-foglio. The tale follows a week in the life of Marcello Rubini (Marcello Mastroianni), a Roman journalist torn between making something serious of his life or drifting along on a stream of casual affairs. He becomes obsessed with a movie star Anita Ekberg, and makes efforts to meet her.
Long considered a masterpiece of the cinema, this remains Federico Fellini's greatest film, winning the 1960 Cannes Film Festival's Palme d'Or. It was also nominated for three Oscars (including Best Director) but won for Best Costumes. The film is made up of several chapters or sequences instead of linear structure, and is tied together by the journalist Marcello (Marcello Mastroianni) and his journey for happiness through Rome as a moral wasteland.
