Moonraker (1979)
US INSERT (14 X 36 Inches)
£450.00
In Moonraker's Venice sequence, Bond's motorised gondola rises on a hovercraft skirt and glides across Piazza San Marco, while a pigeon appears to do a double take. It is the sort of joke only Roger Moore's Bond could survive, and it remains one of the most talked about moments of the series.
The US Insert was printed on card for the lobby, and its tall 14 x 36 inch shape gives a design a very different elegance from a One Sheet. Dan Goozee's artwork suits it well. A surviving unfolded example from 1979 is rare, because the format was as disposable as it was handsome.
