Pocket Money (1972)

Photo Still (8 X 10 Inches)
£125.00

Original photo still #PM-22.

Pocket Money is peak early’70s hangout cinema, loose, ironic, and more about vibes than plot. It leans hard into New Hollywood’s love of antiheroes and drifting masculinity, with Paul Newman doing what he does best: making failure look cool, casual, and weirdly charming.

This moment catches Newman’s small-time hustler literally on top of his latest bad idea, riding a busted oil scheme with nothing but confidence and a cowboy hat. It’s the movie in a nutshell, laid-back, slightly doomed, and fully aware that the score probably isn’t coming, but the ride’s still worth it.
