Raiders of the Lost Ark is the definitive blueprint for the modern blockbuster. It transformed Indiana Jones into an enduring global icon and solidified the creative partnership between Steven Spielberg and George Lucas as a dominant force in Hollywood history. 
 
Here, Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) wields his iconic bullwhip while defending Marion Ravenwood (Karen Allen), attempting to evade Nazi operatives and their local collaborators during a chaotic street skirmish. During the filming of these desert sequences in Tunisia, most of the crew, including Harrison Ford, became severely ill with dysentery. This illness famously led to the shortening of a planned elaborate sword vs whip fight into a single, iconic gunshot, as Ford was too weak to perform the original choreography.
 
This still features an original Paramount Pictures ‘snipe’ on the reverse, which can be displayed when framed, adding another layer of authenticity to the image.
