A delightful original first-release black & white production still #ROJ-12 featuring R2-D2 (Kenny Baker) transformed into a drinks waiter aboard Jabba the Hutt’s sail barge in RETURN OF THE JEDI. Issued by the studio in 1983 for cinema publicity and press promotion, original stills such as this were produced in relatively limited quantities and remain highly collectible today.

The Jabba’s Palace sequences introduced some of the most imaginative creature and production design of the entire STAR WARS saga, blending humour, fantasy and adventure in a way that became synonymous with the series. R2-D2’s role aboard the sail barge remains one of the film’s most memorable and charming moments.
