Return Of The Jedi (1985)

Original Polish Poster (19 X 27 Inches)
£3,350.00

An extraordinarily rare original Polish poster for Return of the Jedi, featuring surreal and highly unconventional artwork by Marcin Chudzik. Produced in very limited numbers for regional distribution in Poland, only around 1,000 copies were printed, making this one of the rarest and most unusual Star Wars posters ever created.

Rather than using the familiar Hollywood imagery, Chudzik presents the saga in a dark, graphic-novel style, combining hand-drawn portraits, comic-strip panels and stark monochrome fantasy imagery. The result feels closer to underground art than commercial cinema advertising.

Polish film posters became internationally celebrated for their artistic freedom and abstract interpretation during the Communist era. Unlike Western campaigns designed around recognisable stars and spectacle, Polish artists were encouraged to create symbolic and deeply personal responses to a film’s themes and atmosphere. This gave rise to the legendary Polish School of Poster Art, now admired by collectors, museums and graphic designers worldwide.

As the concluding chapter of the original Star Wars trilogy, Return of the Jedi cemented the franchise as a global cultural phenomenon. Rare Polish variants such as this are particularly prized because they reinterpret one of cinema’s most recognisable stories through a radically different artistic lens.
