A fabulous original photograph featuring Jane Birkin as Evelyne and Serge Gainsbourg as Serge, posing with a vintage car. It’s an especially appealing image of the pair together, capturing the effortless bohemian style that would soon make Birkin and Gainsbourg one of the most famous couples of their generation.
Slogan, directed by Pierre Grimblat, has particular cultural importance because Birkin and Gainsbourg met while making the film, beginning both their long relationship and celebrated artistic partnership. They would soon record “Je t’aime… moi non plus” together and become enduring icons of late-1960s and 1970s European culture. A wonderful original image connecting cinema, music, fashion and one of the era’s most iconic couples.
