Original 1977 US 30 x 40 inch
With poster with art by Tom Jung, these US 30 x 40 posters are amongst the rarest of the all first release 1977 Star Wars film posters. Printed on a thicker cardstock for use in outside areas and drive-ins, these were costly to make and therefore fewer were printed than their 1 Sheet counterparts. Futhermore, there was only 1 print-run in this 30 x 40 inch format, whereas the US 27 x 41 inch 1 Sheets had four printings. This particular example displays the same characteristic cropping error on the bottom edge that is seen on the majority of this print run (the print information on the bottom border is cut in half). Few of this style survive in good condition as they were typically used outside and suffered when exposed to the elements, but this piece remains in superb rolled condition. A rare find!
