The Birds (1963)

Original Window Card (14 X 22 Inches)
£975.00

Following the groundbreaking success of Psycho, director Alfred Hitchcock demonstrated his ability to transform the mundane into the terrifying. By presenting everyday animals (birds) as an unexplained, apocalyptic threat, the film helped pioneer the "nature runs amok" horror subgenre. It remains a cinematic masterclass in building slow, creeping dread without ever providing the audience with the comfort of a clear resolution or explanation.

This is an original window card, which was specifically designed with a blank space at the top so local venues could manually add their screening details. In this instance, the "Roxy Theatre" has handwritten their weekend schedule. The artwork features a terrified Tippi Hedren fending off an avian attack, while Hitchcock himself also appears on the poster to personally guarantee audiences a terrifying experience.
