The Empire Strikes Back (1980)

George Lucas handed the Star Wars sequel to Irvin Kershner, who had taught at USC when Lucas was a student there. Kershner's first instinct was to refuse, fearing that any follow-up could only be judged the lesser film. He was talked round, and made what many now consider the finest of them all.

By 1980 the Three Sheet was being phased out, so this 20th Century Fox example is much harder to find than the smaller formats of the campaign. Unlike the two-panel Three Sheets of old, it was produced as a single sheet, which makes it display-ready at once. Folded-as-issued, with an actual size of 40.75 x 76.75 inches.
