The Good, The Bad, And The Ugly / Le Bon, La Brute, Le Truand (1966)

Original French Grande (47 X 63 Inches)
£5,500.00

A spectacular and scarce first-release French Grande (first French was release was in 1968), featuring magnificent artwork by celebrated French poster artist Jean Mascii. His powerful painted portraits of Clint Eastwood, Lee Van Cleef and Eli Wallach dominate the design, surrounded by gunfights, cavalry and the chaos of the American Civil War. The huge French format and rich yellow, orange and brown palette make this one of the most impressive international posters produced for the film.

Sergio Leone’s epic final chapter in the “Man With No Name” trilogy became a landmark of the Spaghetti Western and helped cement Clint Eastwood as an international screen icon. Leone’s sweeping landscapes and extreme close-ups, combined with Ennio Morricone’s legendary score, including The Ecstasy of Gold, have had an enormous influence on cinema and popular culture. A superb piece of original film poster art for one of the most celebrated Westerns ever made.
