The Thing (1982)
Photo Still (8 X 10 Inches)
£145.00
Original 1982 Universal City Studios b&w promotional still, #31-25A.
Featuring Kurt Russell in John Carpenter's science fiction horror classic, The Thing. The chilling shot captures Russell's character, MacReady, armed with a rifle and holding a lantern as he investigates a ruined Norwegian research camp, staring into a massive, hollowed-out block of ice beneath hanging icicles. Official studio copyright, title branding, and a descriptive caption detailing the scene are printed in the bottom margin.
Culturally, this image perfectly sets the tone of isolated, freezing dread that defines Carpenter's masterpiece. The discovery of the excavated ice block is a pivotal moment of mounting suspense.
