You Only Live Twice (1967)

You Only Live Twice opens by killing off its hero. Bond is shot in a Hong Kong bed, given a naval burial at sea and declared dead in the newspapers, all before the titles roll. For audiences who had made Connery's Bond the biggest screen hero of the decade, it was a bold way to begin.

This US Advance One Sheet went out ahead of the film with a teaser campaign built around the words First, Then, Next and Last, selling Bond as an ongoing global event. Linen-backed, it is a clean and clever example of 1960s Bond promotion.
