You Only Live Twice (1967)

Ian Fleming's novel put Blofeld in a seaside castle. The film moved him into a volcano, and production designer Ken Adam built the crater on the backlot at Pinewood, complete with working monorail and helicopter pad, for a reported sum greater than the whole budget of Dr. No. It was also the film that finally showed Blofeld's face, in the form of Donald Pleasence.

Three styles of US One Sheet were produced for the film, and this is Style A, the Volcano Lair, perhaps the most explosive of the three. Frank McCarthy's illustration makes the most of Lewis Gilbert's spectacle and Roald Dahl's screenplay. Folded as issued.
