Breakfast At Tiffany's (1961)
Original Italian (39 X 55 Inches)
£22,500.00
"Moon River" nearly did not survive. After a preview, a studio executive suggested cutting Audrey Hepburn's song from the film, and she is said to have answered that it would happen over her dead body. It stayed, and won the Oscar, one of two for a film nominated five times.
Italian studios gave their posters to painters, and this one belongs to Enzo Nistri, whose Holly Golightly may be the most beautiful image of Hepburn ever put on movie paper. Linen-backed and very rare, it shows what happened when Hollywood's most elegant star met Italy's finest poster tradition.
