Diamonds Are Forever (1971)

Sean Connery came back to Bond for Diamonds Are Forever only after United Artists agreed a then-record fee of $1.25 million. He gave the lot away, using it to found the Scottish International Education Trust. It remains one of the classiest exits in Hollywood.

Robert McGinnis painted the campaign, and this advance UK Double Crown is one of the rarest and most sought after of all Bond posters, made more important still by being for the London premiere at Leicester Square. It is also one of the most notorious. Known to collectors as the "crown jewels" design, it stands as a celebrated case of a poster artist slipping something past the censors.
