The Godfather 1972 Publicity Still: Michael Corleone shoots Sollozzo, alternate shot
The Godfather still shown framed on a wall

The Godfather (1972)

Photo Still (8 X 10 Inches)
£245.00

An original 1972 Paramount Pictures British Black and White Publicity Still, unframed.

A second angle on the most important moment of the film: Al Pacino's Michael Corleone, gun raised, as Al Lettieri's Sollozzo falls back and Sterling Hayden's McCluskey sits frozen beside him.

Coppola left the Italian dialogue in this scene without subtitles, so that audiences feel Michael's isolation. Paramount was close to replacing Pacino, and the story goes that this sequence changed their minds.
