Le Mépris is one of the defining films of the French New Wave, with Brigitte Bardot, Michel Piccoli, Jack Palance and the great Fritz Lang playing himself. Its American producers demanded more of Bardot on screen, and Godard responded with the film's famous opening scene of her lying in bed, a sly comment on that very demand.
The artwork is by Georges Allard, and Bardot has rarely looked more glamorous. A beautiful original 1963 French Grande, linen-backed.
