Lolita (1980's)

A stunning 1980s French re-release poster featuring Roger Soubie’s beautifully stylised artwork of Sue Lyon as Lolita, with her unmistakable red heart-shaped sunglasses. 

Directed by Stanley Kubrick and based on Vladimir Nabokov’s celebrated and controversial novel, Lolita remains one of the defining films of the early 1960s. The image of Lolita in heart-shaped sunglasses became one of the most recognisable images in cinema advertising. Interestingly, the heart-shaped glasses were created for the publicity campaign rather than actually worn in the film. A striking large format poster combining Kubrick, Nabokov and classic French poster design.
