Rocky (1976) - FRAMED

Original 1976 US lobby card #5.

Featuring Sylvester Stallone as Rocky Balboa training in the meat locker, punching hanging sides of beef in one of the film’s most memorable scenes. This original card would have been displayed in the foyer of a US cinema during the film’s 1976 theatrical release, showing audiences a key moment from the movie.

Rocky became a cultural phenomenon and one of the great underdog stories in cinema, winning three Academy Awards including Best Picture and turning Stallone into an international star. Rocky’s unconventional meat punching workout became an iconic part of his training routine and helped establish the training montage imagery that has influenced sports films ever since.
