Scarface (1983)
An original 1983 Universal Pictures US Lobby Card #1, unframed.
Michelle Pfeiffer as Elvira Hancock, cigarette raised, gazing coolly away in the glow of the Babylon Club. Elvira is the trophy Tony Montana wants above all others, the bored, beautiful girlfriend of his boss, and this is how the film first sells her: untouchable.
It was the role that made Pfeiffer a star, and her icy glamour, bias-cut silk and blonde bob became one of the defining looks of 1980s cinema. Lobby Cards were issued in sets of eight and displayed in cinema foyers to tempt audiences in, then usually discarded at the end of the run. Each card carries the iconic split-design artwork alongside the scene, which makes the Scarface set one of the most displayable of the decade.
