Steve Mcqueen off set on the film The War Lover (1962)
Photo Still (8 X 10 Inches)
£375.00
Original 1962 Columbia Pictures black and white publicity still #WL-EPUB 14.
Captures Steve McQueen sitting astride a mud-caked motorcycle in full riding gear, casually chatting off-set with his co-star Robert Wagner during the English production of The War Lover.
Culturally, this candid behind-the-scenes glimpse perfectly crystallizes McQueen’s authentic, thrill-seeking "King of Cool" persona, foreshadowing the legendary, stunt-heavy motorcycle sequences he would cement in cinematic history just a year later with The Great Escape.
