The Godfather (1972) - FRAMED
Original US Mini Lobby Card / Front-of House Card
James Caan, Marlon Brando, Al Pacino and John Cazale as Sonny, Vito, Michael and Fredo Corleone, gathered for the family photograph at Connie’s wedding. Michael’s Marine uniform sets him apart from the dinner-jacketed family, a striking detail given the transformation to come. A superb image bringing together four extraordinary actors at the opening of Francis Ford Coppola’s masterpiece.
The Godfather turned the gangster film into an epic about family, loyalty and the corrupting force of power. Brando’s Don Corleone and Pacino’s reluctant heir became defining figures in cinema, their performances helping the film win its place among the greatest ever made. This original publicity still captures the Corleone dynasty before its loyalties begin to unravel.
