Tommy (1975)
Photo Still (8 X 10 Inches)
£165.00
Original 1975 Columbia Pictures b&w promotional still, #T-44.
Featuring Elton John in Ken Russell's cinematic adaptation of The Who's rock opera, Tommy. The spectacular theatrical shot captures John as the Pinball Wizard, towering over a pinball stage setup in his iconic, oversized platform boots and signature spectacles, flanked by bandmates and co-stars beneath illuminated "TOMMY" signage, accompanied by official studio copyright and reproduction text printed in the bottom margin.
Culturally, this image captures one of the most unforgettable musical cameos in 1970s cinema. Elton John’s extravagantly oversized costume and larger than life stage presence perfectly embody the wonderfully excessive, glam rock aesthetic of the era.
