Goldfinger (1964)
A spectacular original French Grande featuring superb artwork by celebrated French poster artist Jean Mascii. The dramatic design shows Sean Connery as James Bond battling Oddjob, alongside Pussy Galore, the famous gold-painted Jill Masterson and Bond’s Aston Martin DB5. Remarkably, this was the first appearance of the DB5 on a Bond cinema poster.
Goldfinger was the film that turned James Bond into a true worldwide cultural phenomenon. The third Bond film introduced many elements that became central to the 007 legend i.e. the gadget filled Aston Martin, larger-than-life villain, unforgettable title song and spectacular action. Mascii’s artwork was created specifically for the French release, making this large format poster an especially striking and desirable piece of Sean Connery era Bond history.
