Godfather, The (1972)
An original 1972 Australian One Sheet, linen-backed.
The Godfather made Brando a legend all over again and turned Al Pacino into a star. Its cast list reads like a roll call of great 1970s actors, and its scenes, from the wedding to the horse's head, are woven into film history.
Where most countries sold the film with stark, minimal designs, Australia told the story with photographs, placing Brando's Don at the centre like a family portrait surrounded by the film's key moments. Australian posters were printed locally in small numbers for a relatively small market, and originals from 1972 are genuinely hard to find.
Quite unlike any other Godfather poster, it's a superb choice for the collector who already knows the classic designs and wants something with real character and rarity.
